I enjoy working with clients ages 16+ who are struggling with relationship distress, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, and a variety of other issues. My areas of special interest are couple therapy, acceptance-based therapy (ACT), and assessment. I provide psychological testing/assessment for clients ages 6 and up. This includes psychoeducational assessment for accommodations at school.
The best therapy, in my opinion, guides the client to learn to accept all the uniqueness of themselves, connect with others meaningfully, and decide how to engage in life a purpose-filled way. For couple therapy, I emphasize acceptance and change together as a couple through establishing strong emotional foundations.
I work hard to create a safe and open therapeutic setting in which my clients can identify what is uniquely important to them and choose to live with meaning and purpose. My invitation to you is to challenge yourself to discover who you want to be and learn to open life up to new experiences rather than regretting the past or worrying about the future.

I typically focus on helping couples change their emotional communication, mainly by implementing and practicing new patterns of interacting around difficult topics. My work with trauma tends to work on reducing avoidance, either through retelling or writing, so that the patient can re-engage in their life fully.

My approach for individuals draws much from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Existential Therapy. For couples I generally work from an Emotion-Focused Therapy approach. However, I feel each client is unique and work with them to find what will most effectively help them reach their goals.
