My practice centers around teaching people principles on how to access their own innate psychological health, and how to utilize this understanding for their own well-being. This can include a healthier concept of self, a more productive way of viewing difficulties and overcoming challenges in life, and how to establish more meaningful relationships. I help client's suffering from depression, anxiety, attention issues, addictions, emotional regulatory disorders and relational conflict learn skills such as CBT, DBT, 3 principles training, and mindfulness to help better their lives. Teaching new skills is an integral part of my practice.
Mental health is not just the absence of symptoms. Mental health is an ability for individuals to experience happiness, joy, hope, connection, meaningful relationships, and high regard of self. This ability is within every person and will surface if we know how to "get out of our own way."
My practice helps individuals realize their true potential, helping people to see how we create our own individual realities and helping people remove obstacles for living a happy, healthy life. Therapy, at its core, is a learning, teaching environment.
