Finding a therapist doesn't have to feel like reading cover letters or dating profiles—and therapy isn't another dreaded item on your "should do" list. I bring both my training and lived experience into the conversation, so you get a psychotherapist who also feels like a person. We will work together to develop insight into your emotional distress, construct strategies to cope with overwhelming feelings, and create a positive vision for your future. I won’t wear a perfect mask to fit societal expectations for how a therapist should act. This creates more space to develop an approach that fits your specific needs.
I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ folks, as well as professionals and therapists seeking a healthier work-life balance. My approach combines evidence-based techniques with compassion, humor, and honest feedback. My hope is to make the complexity of human existance feel a little bit easier to navigate.
I provide free 30-minute initial consultations. Here’s some prompts that can help guide our discussion: What's one fear that may be holding you back in your life? When do you feel most alive and authentic? What patterns seem to play on repeat despite your best efforts? What do you hope to experience in therapy?

I don't see you as someone to be fixed or treated. It is often the case that mental health symptoms are the result of complex societal conditions and constructs-which may foster feelings of shame and failure, especially when you can't squeeze your life into a tidy box.

Beyond the office I am just another human trying to live a balanced life. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, biking, gardening, cooking, meditation, writing, gaming, and music. I also play guitar, trombone, percussion, and sound healing instruments. Therapy will always adapt to your unique rhythm and inner landscape.

When I was being supervised by Sean, I found him to be thoughtful, well-informed, empathetic, and intentional with his approach. He provided a safe and supportive environment, that allowed for me to grow professionally, at my own pace.

Things falling apart is a kind of testing and also a kind of healing. We think that the point is to pass the test or to overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don't really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen while remaining steady and fearless. (Pema Chodron)
