Seal Dwyer Counseling works with people healing from chronic trauma, or who have gender and sexuality challenges, relationship conflicts, and body image issues. We offer a harm-reduction approach, treating trauma with EMDR. Our therapists and counselors are trauma-informed, and treat PTSD, DID, Gender Dysphoria, and trauma- or gender-related concerns as well as stress, anxiety, depression, and other issues affecting our daily lives. We believe that all folks can heal and that all folks deserve the relief from the impact of trauma. In a world that makes certain bodies and identities unsafe, this office is a safe place.
Trauma affects and infects every part of a person’s life. Trauma impacts people's health: physical, emotional, mental, relationship. Helping one person helps the whole system, and as we heal the systems, we heal the world. We help folks process their identities and live and express their best lives in their bodies and support folks through transition.
All staff here are trained and supervised by Seal. In their own words: "I focus on queer folks and trauma because I am queer and I had chronic trauma. The most effective therapists are simply folks who dealt with their own issues and learned how to help others. I am queer. I live in the world in a queer body and help other folks, many of whom do the same."
