If you’re a working professional just trying to make it through the week, a mil spouse who’s tired of “blooming where you’re planted,” a first responder running on empty, or a veteran who’s tired of pretending everything’s fine—this space is for you. You’ve probably learned to keep it together for everyone else. But here, you get to take a breath. Alongside therapy, I also offer supervision and consultation for other clinicians seeking grounded, real-world support. Schedule your free consult and we’ll figure it out together.

I think of therapy as a compassionate collaboration. Clients and I form a partnership in which we work together to not only change behavior, but to understand why we continue to make the same mistakes. We also develop a "roadmap" to avoid future problems by learning to spot "red flags" that may trigger old behaviors. Learning new coping skills and strengthening old ones are an intregal part of this process.

Feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or burned out? Therapy can help you regain clarity and momentum. Living in a rural area can mean fewer supports, more isolation, and a strong expectation to “handle things on your own.” Life in coastal Florida can look calm on the outside while feeling overwhelming on the inside. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida and South Dakota with 17 years of experience helping adults manage anxiety, ADHD, AuDHD, Autism, stress, burnout, compassion fatigue, codependency, divorce, and recovery from emotionally abusive or narcissistic relationships.

Have you ever caught yourself thinking—“I freeze when it’s time to perform.” “My nerves always win.” “I need someone to talk to, but I don’t want to burden anyone.” “I feel sad but can’t explain why.” “I’ll never measure up.” If these thoughts sound familiar, you’re not alone. Struggles with trauma, anxiety, or depression don’t define you—you are worthy of something better, and we can work toward that together.

First, I want to thank you for being here. The first step is, as we say in the therapy world, the hardest, and by giving yourself that ounce of opportunity you unknowingly have already started your healing journey. Whether you are here because of past trauma, current life circumstances, or attempting to navigate the day to day, know you found the space to create the life you want to live. It is my goal to make therapy a little less intimidating, as we know life is hard on its own. Instead, this is a journey to overcome, manage, and most importantly empower yourself to know you are no longer a victim to what you have lived.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. You may be feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, trying to make sense of painful past experiences, or seeking new ways to cope with life stressors. Anxiety or depression may be making it hard to feel like yourself. You might be navigating a major life transition, exploring your identity, or simply longing for a space where you can be understood without judgment. If you can relate, this might be the space for you.

Do you feel like the challenges you face in life are making you (and your loved ones) out to be crazy, a burden or a problem? I aim to carve out a comfortable healing space for people who are faced with problems that may be tricky to unravel, obstinate to change or that simply need a place to be aired-out and heard. I am interested in meeting people who may struggle to find a good fit with other counselors or people who are new to therapy and looking for a comfortable, personal and respectful relationship.

Mental illness does not discriminate; everyone can struggle with challenges that are unique to them, such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues and many more. It takes a lot of courage to seek therapy; it involves facing our shortcomings and accepting that we need help. It is a journey of self-discovery and growth, and it is an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and grow to be the person we were always made to be. This journey is a vulnerable journey, and therapy can serve as a safe space and supportive environment to help you reach your goals and lead fulfilling lives.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
