If you’re a working professional just trying to make it through the week, a mil spouse who’s tired of “blooming where you’re planted,” a first responder running on empty, or a veteran who’s tired of pretending everything’s fine—this space is for you. You’ve probably learned to keep it together for everyone else. But here, you get to take a breath. Alongside therapy, I also offer supervision and consultation for other clinicians seeking grounded, real-world support. Schedule your free consult and we’ll figure it out together.

I think of therapy as a compassionate collaboration. Clients and I form a partnership in which we work together to not only change behavior, but to understand why we continue to make the same mistakes. We also develop a "roadmap" to avoid future problems by learning to spot "red flags" that may trigger old behaviors. Learning new coping skills and strengthening old ones are an intregal part of this process.

I feel that my biggest area of expertise is anxiety, anger, depression, and trauma.
I am licensed to work with people in South Dakota and am accepting new clients. I work to provide an environment that is non-judgmental and authentic. I focus on identifying and building upon your existing strengths, while also helping you explore the context that shapes how you view your struggles. Therapy with me isn’t about forcing change — it’s about understanding your experiences more deeply and creating space for new perspectives to emerge. My goal is to provide a space where you can feel safe, informed, and supported as you move toward healing, self-awareness, and lasting change.

I work with clients who are facing challenges with depression, anxiety, and/or related to their relationships or family.
First, I want to thank you for being here. The first step is, as we say in the therapy world, the hardest, and by giving yourself that ounce of opportunity you unknowingly have already started your healing journey. Whether you are here because of past trauma, current life circumstances, or attempting to navigate the day to day, know you found the space to create the life you want to live. It is my goal to make therapy a little less intimidating, as we know life is hard on its own. Instead, this is a journey to overcome, manage, and most importantly empower yourself to know you are no longer a victim to what you have lived.

As a psychologist/therapist, I want to work with you to gain the tools and strategies to help you move past the area that is of concern. I have been in practice for nearly 20 years, having raised three beautiful daughters and now enjoying 4 grandchildren. I believe that we must find the positive and the good in each day even if it's small to give us the power and motivation to move forward. It is not always easy, but it is definitely worth it. When you are ready to take your first step towards change, I am here to help guide you toward a more productive life. Lets talk and begin a new chapter. You will not be judged, but understood

It is exhausting to live in a constant cycle of anxiety, burnout, or conflict.
With a background in Biochemistry and a Master’s in Social Work, I bridge the gap between hard science and compassionate mental health care. In both my individual and couples work, we look past the surface. We will explore how chronic stress and life experiences have shaped your nervous system, using somatic tools to move your body into balance.

My ideal client is exploring change and considering what it may look like. Whether that is change in their relationships, lifestyle, career, family life, social life, etc... They recognize that a change needs to happen. Their goal is to decrease stress from the current behavior that continues to go on and they desire to find a different way to deal with issues that come up in life. They know what needs to change and the thought of doing something different is scary and overwhelming.

Maybe you already have a strong community to speak with, but you fear what they may think if you really opened up.
It is not too late for you to talk to someone or feel better. There is hope and sometimes that means starting a conversation with a trained therapist in a comfortable and confidential space without judgment. My clients experience healing, connection, and real solutions to their concerns.

If you've been carrying the weight of trauma, anxiety, or disconnection in your relationships, you don't have to do it alone.
Feeling stuck despite insight? Let’s work with what’s actually blocking change. I work with thoughtful, self-aware adults who understand their patterns but still feel stuck, or who sense there is something deeper going on but are not sure how to access it yet. On the outside, things may look stable. Internally, something feels off. Patterns repeat, change does not stick, and relief feels out of reach. I help you understand and work through the deeper emotional patterns driving these cycles so you can experience more clarity, freedom, and meaningful change.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
