As a psychologist/therapist, I want to work with you to gain the tools and strategies to help you move past the area that is of concern. I have been in practice for nearly 20 years, having raised three beautiful daughters and now enjoying 4 grandchildren. I believe that we must find the positive and the good in each day even if it's small to give us the power and motivation to move forward. It is not always easy, but it is definitely worth it. When you are ready to take your first step towards change, I am here to help guide you toward a more productive life. Lets talk and begin a new chapter. You will not be judged, but understood

My ideal client is exploring change and considering what it may look like. Whether that is change in their relationships, lifestyle, career, family life, social life, etc... They recognize that a change needs to happen. Their goal is to decrease stress from the current behavior that continues to go on and they desire to find a different way to deal with issues that come up in life. They know what needs to change and the thought of doing something different is scary and overwhelming.

I have over 10 years of experience in the mental health field, starting with community mental health, and most recently working alongside children with complex trauma and adoption.
First, I want to thank you for being here. The first step is, as we say in the therapy world, the hardest, and by giving yourself that ounce of opportunity you unknowingly have already started your healing journey. Whether you are here because of past trauma, current life circumstances, or attempting to navigate the day to day, know you found the space to create the life you want to live. It is my goal to make therapy a little less intimidating, as we know life is hard on its own. Instead, this is a journey to overcome, manage, and most importantly empower yourself to know you are no longer a victim to what you have lived.

I get it, being overwhelmed, worried about everything and just plain tired of life is an issue we will experience at some point in our lives. I can help. Anxiety pushing you to do more - then you realize no matter what you do it's not enough. I can help. Every phase of our life means we are relearning the same lesson, different situation. I can help. Feeling stuck and not seeing any way out of a situation can be paralyzing. I can help. Grief true deep grief, not understanding how to move through it. I can help. ANGER all the time, easily irritated? I can help. Give me a chance I can help.

Individuals seek therapy for a variety of reasons. Parents may be looking for assistance for their child as they are demonstrating behaviors. Couples may be struggling to communicate in their marriage. Individuals going through a divorce may need parent coordination to assist them in coordinating visitation. Each situation requires a therapist who is understanding and willing to see how they are being impacted individually. Clients are seeking help and wanting results.

With experience in foster care, adoption, child welfare, family preservation, hospice, and palliative care, I honor your dignity, worth, and build resilience.
I specialize in supporting older adults as they navigate changing health, increasing care needs, and the loss of independence. I also work with caregivers of aging parents—especially those supporting a loved one with dementia—who often carry exhaustion, guilt, grief, and deep love all at once. My approach is grounded in compassion, respect, and a steady presence. Whether you are an older adult facing new challenges or a caregiver trying to hold everything together, you don’t have to walk this path alone. Together, we’ll honor the realities of aging, and find support that feels both sustainable and hopeful.

The people who show up to therapy are dealing with real and heavy things. Anxiety that follows you everywhere. Depression that makes ordinary life feel impossible. Relationship issues that paralyze you. Whatever brought you here, I'd like to help. Above all, I value real conversations. The kind where you don't have to filter yourself. And beyond the clinical work, I believe that real change also happens outside of the therapy room — in the way you sleep, move, eat, connect, and take care of yourself day to day. Lifestyle isn't separate from mental health. It's deeply intertwined with it, and I pay attention to the whole picture.

Adoption Therapists
Does my adopted child need therapy?
Not every adopted child needs therapy. However, many can benefit from seeing an adoption-informed therapist, especially if they were victims of abuse or neglect, appear withdrawn or disconnected, have behavioral or developmental issues (which may or may not be related to their adoption), are struggling with feelings of grief or loss surrounding their birth parents, or find it difficult to establish an identity, a challenge that often becomes most apparent during adolescence.

When should adoptive parents seek therapy?
Prospective parents can benefit from therapy even before an adoption—for example, to voice worries and fears; to reconcile infertility struggles, if relevant; or simply to prepare themselves for parenthood. After the adoption, parents who are struggling to bond with their child; are unsure how to talk about adoption or related issues, such as race; or whose child is dealing with developmental, behavioral, or psychiatric concerns can address these and other issues with the help of an adoption-competent therapist.

Is family therapy appropriate for adoptive families?
Family therapy can be invaluable for strengthening the bond between adoptive parents and children, helping the latter feel more secure in their place in the family. Family therapy can also help adoptive families navigate complex communication issues—for example, parents who feel uncomfortable discussing race with their child, who in turn feels invalidated by their silence, or a child who has questions about his birth parents but avoids asking them out of fear of hurting his adoptive parents’ feelings.

What therapy is not appropriate for adoption issues?
A discredited therapy known as “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy” or “rebirthing therapy”) should not be used to treat adopted and foster children, though it was largely designed for this population. Attachment therapy involves restraining, coercing, and punishing the child in order for them to “release” negative emotions and attach to their new caregivers—techniques that are abusive and dangerous and have even proven fatal in some cases.
