I get it, being overwhelmed, worried about everything and just plain tired of life is an issue we will experience at some point in our lives.
I like to get to the heart of things right away from the first session we will be identifying and problem solving issues. I have found patterns of behavior and patterns of thought that may have helped us in past situations may not be working in your current situation. I work to find options now, on your first visit.

Anxiety that follows you everywhere.
I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach — and I'm skeptical of anyone who does. I've trained in CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, EMDR and other modalities and I draw from all of it. But knowing a lot of tools only matters if you know which one to reach for and when. We'll figure that out together.

If you're struggling with mood swings, exhaustion, anxiety, or feeling like a stranger in your own life — this is exactly the work I do.
You've spent decades showing up for everyone else. And now — somewhere in your 30s, 40s, or 50s — something has shifted. Your sleep is fractured. Emotions feel out of sync. Your focus slips in ways that scare you. Your sense of self feels blurry. No one prepared you for this. Maybe doctors have told you it's "just stress" or "just aging." But what you're experiencing has a neurological explanation. Perimenopause and menopause change your brain, not just your body. That's not weakness. That's biology meeting an unsupported life transition.

I typically work with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and PTSD/trauma.
Have you ever been looking for something that seems out of reach, and then celebrated once you've reached what you were striving for? Or have you ever experienced a moment of great insight or understanding where suddenly everything makes sense? Those are both examples of what it is to have an "epiphany". Epiphany Mental Health was founded to provide space for you to reflect and explore where you are on life's journey and a partner to help guide you towards your desired destination.

I specialize in supporting older adults as they navigate changing health, increasing care needs, and the loss of independence. I also work with caregivers of aging parents—especially those supporting a loved one with dementia—who often carry exhaustion, guilt, grief, and deep love all at once. My approach is grounded in compassion, respect, and a steady presence. Whether you are an older adult facing new challenges or a caregiver trying to hold everything together, you don’t have to walk this path alone. Together, we’ll honor the realities of aging, and find support that feels both sustainable and hopeful.

Do you need someone to talk to, someone who will listen without judgement? I would be honored to be that someone for you. I have a passion to help teens and adults to learn, grow, and heal. I have a client-centered approach to therapy. This is about you; you are in the driver's seat. Even though the therapy process can sometimes be painful, I like to incorporate a little dash of the "laughter is the best medicine" approach at times. Tears and laughter both have healing qualities. And what if you don't like to talk? We can use additional approaches such as expressive art, play, or journaling to reach your counseling goals.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
