Dr. Scott L. Lipp's Groups
Abstinence-Free, Addictive Disorders Support Group
An excellent adjunct to 12-step-based support groups, this open group is perfect for those looking to address their personal concerns with substances and/or addiction in a supportive environment of like-minded peers. The group follows a harm reduction model, which is evidence-based and grounded in utilizing psychosocial support, along with a range of positive health practices aimed at reducing risk. Although encouraged, sobriety and abstinence are not required to join. Offered both in-person and via videoconference, the group is open to women and men, ages 18 and up.
Adolescent, DBT-Based Skills & Support Group
Join teens just like yourself in a safe and supportive environment to interpersonally process a variety of emotions, while utilizing the dialectic of acceptance and change. In addition to social and emotional components, this open group is grounded in the application of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills, including mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. Offered both in-person and via videoconference, the age range for the group is 13 to 17 years old. Each group is “coed” and gender-neutral, being open to both girls and guys.
