My name is Scott Cunningham, I am a licensed Professional Counselor. I have a laid-back approach and work hard to develop a positive supportive relationship with my clients. I work with adults who are experiencing distress in one or more areas of their lives. I typically work with clients who suffer from anxiety, depression, relations issues, or many other difficult situations. I try to instill hope for a better tomorrow with a higher level of satisfaction. I want to walk alongside you to help you get to where you want to be on your journey.
I use a person-centered approach, I meet the client where they are. I let you set the pace and we work on the goals we set together. I mainly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but am versed in many other techniques, depending on what the individual client needs. I believe our mindset and the way we think about our world determines how we feel and act.
My communication style allows me to create a warm friendly environment that helps clients to feel safe and supported. I try to get as much information about what clients want to accomplish because each person's story is different. Once we get to know each other, I then help to set mutually agreed-upon goals that will guide treatment moving forward.
