Being a dad is a wonderful experience, but comes with many challenges at all stages. Bonding with a newborn, experiencing shame or guilt, fearing failure, and worries about not managing emotions well in front one your kid(s) are examples of those struggles. Sometimes we cope in unhealthy ways, unfortunately. Your ability to be your best self is tested and it may affect your mental health. It is normal to have self-doubt at times and it's okay to ask for help. Attending therapy is an action that exudes strength and leads to positive changes for you and your family members. Please reach out and do not suffer in silence.
I take pride in helping people make gradual and lasting changes in issues like addiction, depression, anxiety, managing anger/emotions, and becoming a dad. I have an addiction counselor certificate (CAADC) along with a certificate as a trauma-informed counselor (CCTP) that honors science based approaches and the brain's impact on mental health.
I know how intimidating and difficult it is to find a therapist and appreciate you taking the time to look at my profile. It shows how hard it is to make changes. That said, a sense of hope is powerful even when we feel uninspired or unmotivated. My aim will be to teach tools for coping and provide space be comfortable enough to get things off your chest.
