Often people who come to therapy have already been struggling for some time: a feeling or way of thinking, relationship concerns, feeling overloaded with work or school, a particular loss or trauma, or just a general sense that something is wrong. You may know what you need, or may be unsure if psychotherapy can help at all. This is where therapy begins. I will work with you to develop a plan of action; if we can't come up with a plan that works for you within our first few meetings, I will connect you with someone who can.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with ten years of training and experience, including Cambridge Hospital/Harvard Medical School and the MIT university clinic. In addition to the above issues, I have worked at length with those who want to control their anger. I am a committed GLBT ally, trained at Persad Center in Pittsburgh.
My approach is psychodynamic/cognitive, although my primary goal is to be effective in helping you resolve your difficulties. I am open to religion and philosophy as practical concerns.
