With over 25 years of experience, I offer individuals and families a safe and accepting environment to explore and gain a better understanding of the issues most affecting their lives. In addition to providing tools, skills, and resources for better managing symptoms and behaviors, I work with people on gaining greater insight and understanding into the various underlying causes of their internal and external difficulties. When combined with a strengths-based approach that helps people get in touch with and summon their inner courage, strength, and best self, we can work on making meaningful and long-lasting change.

Being a therapist is not just my career, it is my passion. Working in the mental health field allows me to share with others just how important it is to take care of oneself. If we cannot show up for ourself, how can we be our best for anyone else?
Our day-to-day lives can be significantly influenced by childhood experiences. Unresolved trauma from our past can lead to current symptoms of anxiety, depression, substance use, post-traumatic stress disorder, etc... Sometimes we are living our trauma, and are completely unaware of it! If you find yourself affected by your past or current trauma, I am here to help.

I believe life unfolds perfectly for each of us, even when we feel blocked or overwhelmed. When we learn how to work with the wisdom of our emotions and our life - instead of against them - they naturally help us learn and grow. Let's stop talking in the same old loops and tap into genuine change, shall we? Deeper methods like EMDR, somatic therapy, IFS & ketamine assisted therapy allow us to work through the same material with so many more possibilities. Side effects include more clarity, more ease, joy in the midst of challenge, self-love, courage for true intimacy and the satisfaction that comes with living your authentic life.

Hi there - My name is Amanda! I believe therapy is one of the most important spaces you can enter and I aim to honor that by meeting you where you are, connecting with an empathetic approach, and acknowledging the strength it takes to heal. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to do what I love and have had the incredible honor of working with many amazing adolescents and adults who have experienced various life experiences, mental health, and substance abuse concerns. I have found that humans are resilient; sometimes we just need an advocate, support system, and sounding board along the way-I hope to be just that for you!

Making the choice to pursue therapy means two things: 1) you feel ready to face something you want to change or improve in your life, and 2) you realize that you don't have to do it alone. Both of these demonstrate wisdom and strength, and it's an honor to be a part of that journey with my clients. Taking the step to work with a therapist allows you to hit the "reset button" on circumstances that may otherwise have you stuck. It offers a fresh perspective and a new set of skills with which to tackle the problem.

I have an unusual background for a psychotherapist. Before I started my counseling career, I worked as a TV news reporter, an online media executive, and an adjunct college professor. This diverse experience in journalism, business, and education has given me valuable skills that I use in my counseling practice. My sense of humor is another important part of my counseling style. I take my work with clients seriously, but there are times when therapy needs to include some humor. I also offer life coaching for clients who want to make some changes but don't know where to start.

As a former Division I athlete who has faced many setbacks, I strongly believe in the power of asking for help. My past experiences recovering from the mental and physical components of athletic injury motivate me to help individuals fight their own mental battles. I will work alongside you to better understand your struggles while using CBT, DBT, and strength-based approaches to allow you to make change at your own pace. In our work together, we will identify your personal values and motivators to help achieve your goals.

Life is complicated. At times, you may feel stuck, powerless, stressed or alone. I enjoy helping people understand themselves and their unique situations to figure their way forward and feel less overwhelmed. I am dedicated to supporting you to discover or re-discover the best version of you, no matter your circumstances or stage of life. I became a therapist because I have a deep compassion for the human experience and truly enjoy supporting you during the inevitable times when "life happens." For many of us, therapy is helpful to talk things over with a professional who can listen intently, and offer a fresh perspective.

Hello, I’m Stephanie! The journey that led me to become a Licensed Professional Counselor was not exactly typical. After obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I decided to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a funeral director and embalmer. That experience provided me with a unique perspective on life and loss. Eventually, it led me back to graduate school, where I learned how to help others work through their grief professionally. In addition, I also help clients manage anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I especially enjoy working with young adults, supporting them as they transition into adulthood and develop skills to thrive.

I am a compassionate and seasoned therapist who has worked with adults, couples and families in a variety of settings within the Charleston area. Credentials and experience are significant but research shows that the single most important factor in therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist. I value each person, couple and family as genuinely unique.
