Whether you’re people-pleasing, saying “Yes” to everything, swallowing your needs, and wants in the interest of not being a problem or being too much…you feel like you have to prove that you are good enough. Maybe the hustle shows up at work…feeling like you need to prove your value to your boss by working long hours, prioritizing work over your personal life, and feeling like you need to leap to respond to every email or phone call. Or maybe the hustle shows up with family…feeling that same sense of urgency to satisfy every request from Mom or Dad, catering to their needs and wants out of a guilt rather than genuine desire.

My therapy approach is collaborative and person-centered and I draw from CBT, DBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients better understand themselves.
Therapy should be a space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted. I strive to create a supportive environment where you can be yourself, explore what you’re going through, and work toward meaningful change at your own pace. Before transitioning into private practice, I spent three years working as a school counselor, supporting adolescents through a variety of academic, behavioral, emotional, and family-related challenges. This experience gave me a strong understanding of the unique challenges teens face, while also teaching me the importance of looking at the whole person and the environments that influence them.

I often use a combination of Attachment-Focused EMDR, DBT therapy, and somatic work in my practice.
You’ve been pushing yourself for a long time. Maybe you’ve never quite felt like you fit in—excelling in areas others don’t, yet struggling with things that seem effortless for everyone else. You might wrestle with thoughts like, “There’s something wrong with me,” “I’m not enough,” “I’m too much,” or “I can’t do this.” If you’re seeking support, I already know two things about you: 1) you’re at your wit’s end, and 2) you want more for yourself.

I have training in evidenced based trauma models including CPT, TF-CBT, basic ART, IFS, and DBT.
You are overwhelmed. You're tired. It feels like you’re floating through life, incapable of finding solid ground. Everything is harder than it should be, including your closest relationships. When is there even time to breathe, let alone solve a lifetime’s worth of problems? That seems heavy. Can I hold some of it for you? Let’s take a deep breath together and try to solve this puzzle one piece at a time.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
