You’re high-functioning, capable, and driven yet exhausted, disconnected, and stuck in cycles of stress you can’t think your way out of. I work with adults who want a more embodied, grounded approach to healing. My practice integrates outdoor therapy, somatic and body-based practices, nervous system regulation, and values-based work to support lasting change. Sessions take place outdoors on private trails overlooking the Blue Ridge foothills, where nature helps calm the body and create space for clarity, connection, and alignment. If you’re ready to get out of your head and find your spark again, this work may be for you.

“No one ever told me that grief felt so like fear. I am not afraid, but the sensation is like being afraid." C.S. Lewis, A Grief Observed. Many people spend most of their lives with unprocessed grief which may inhibit and hide parts of themselves from finding joy and healing. I desire to work with individuals in session as they overcome difficulties with grief, chronic illness, depression, anxiety, trauma, relational conflict, and life transitions.

I offer in person therapy and online therapy.
I named my practice "The Journey Home", because life sometimes leaves us with a heartfelt longing for home....that safe place within us that settles our mind and calms our fears. I offer help to women experiencing depression, anxiety, abuse, grief, personality disorders, emotional problems and mental illness. After raising three children who are now navigating independence and owning a specialty restaurant, life experiences and the desire to give back to the community offering emotional support to women and girls prompted a career change. As a Licensed Professional Counselor I am able to provide that support.

We have immediate appointments (within a week!) in person in Greenville or via video session throughout the state of SC.
You're not imagining how hard this is. Maybe you're trying to conceive and feel emotionally worn down; pregnancy or postpartum hasn't felt the way you expected; you've experience pregnancy loss, trauma or complicated grief; your body and hormones are changing and it's affecting your mood; your marriage just isn't the same right now; you feel "okay" on paper but not okay inside. You just want to feel like you thought you would- to be able to feel as good on the inside as you try to show on the outside. You don't need a fully formed story of what happened, a diagnosis or a referral. Just knowing something is off is reason to reach out

Acknowledging life struggles and making the decision to improve your mental health and wellbeing is often the hardest first step. Every person has their own individual reason for taking that first step. Some are struggling with major life transitions, some are finding they no longer feel excited about life and lack motivation to engage in activities that make them feel good. Others feel anxious doing everyday activities and some find that their past experiences hold them back from living their best life. Whatever your reason is for taking that first step, I am so glad you did!

As humans we are all susceptible to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and degraded self care. We can all fall victims to relationship problems, grief and confusion navigating through life with its ever changing twists and turns. I opened my practice with the desire to give clients a nonjudgmental, safe and welcoming environment in order to work on overcoming these life obstacles when they interfere with ones happiness and clarity.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
