I have over 15 years of treatment success working in residential and outpatient settings addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma , conflict management, disordered eating, self-esteem and self-harm.
Maybe you feel like you’ve tried everything, and nothing works. Maybe you don’t even know where to start. Perhaps you’re experiencing pressure from your teens’ teacher, your partner, your work, your family or yourself to make changes, to get better, to BE better. It’s easy to lose perspective and hope when life hands us challenges we feel ill equipped to overcome. My practice works to integrate care for the mind, heart, and body. Therapy does not seek perfection, yet it can provide guidance, validation, and space to define your own goals to increase a positive sense of well-being and daily satisfaction

If you're struggling with PTSD , trauma , childhood abuse, dissociation, or addiction, I can help. Trauma leaves a lasting impact on your body and can create symptoms like anxiety, depression, substance abuse, troubled relationships, and insomnia. Is it difficult to function in day-to-day life or do you feel like you just can't get it together? Low self-esteem may be holding you back from reaching your full potential. Then, there is your dysfunctional family and other relationships causing high levels of stress. Are you wishing you could create a more peaceful and functional life, or trying to get your addiction under control?

I commonly address concerns, such as, but not limited to, trauma , anxiety, depression, anger, ADHD, family & life transitions, challenges stemming from early childhood, spirituality, and grief & loss.
Sometimes, it feels overwhelming to try to 'keep up' or 'fix' things on your own. Maybe you don't know exactly what you need, but you know you want to feel better. Maybe there are things from your past that you have tried to move past, but they just keep creeping up again. I strive to come alongside individuals and families of all ages to help them overcome challenges, find meaning and joy in life, experience renewed strength, find true hope, and become mentally and emotionally healthy individuals. I keep a wholistic perspective, recognizing people as physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual beings.

I specialize in trauma recovery, depression/anxiety, attachment, and self esteem issues.
When we experience chaos and difficulty in our external worlds, our internal worlds often match the everyday crises we have “learned to live with”. Leading us to feel frustrated, confused, alone, and wishing there was a way out. What if I told you another path was possible? That instead of merely “getting by”, or masking your pain, that you could tap into resources to live a more confident and Self lead life? You deserve a space to explore the things that just are causing you frustration, without fear of judgement.

You want to help and support your child. You've read all the parenting articles and parenting blogs but feel stuck. Perhaps your child has gone through an unspeakable trauma and you also feel lost trying to navigate life. Or maybe you are at your breaking point with your child's behavior and you think, "What am I doing wrong? Something has to change, but how?" PERHAPS you yourself need support as you manage to be the caregiver to everyone but yourself. You are starting to realize your past is impacting your present. You carry with you baggage that you know you should deal with, but instead stuff it inside hoping it will close.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
