You’re ready for something to change. Anxiety and stress make everything feel overwhelming. You’re tired of feeling misunderstood, of keeping it all together on the outside while running on empty inside. Maybe you’re managing a chronic illness that no one sees, or juggling motherhood, and professional roles without space to breathe. You’re always “on,” always needed, but rarely supported. You don’t want to feel so stretched thin or disconnected anymore. You’re ready to feel more like you again!

I’m a therapist who is willing to walk beside you on the darkest stretches of your road—and gently shine a light on the thoughts you’re afraid to say out loud. The ones that whisper, “If they really knew me… what I’ve done, what I’ve survived… could they still love me?” Or, “Will I ever feel safe again?” I offer more than traditional talk therapy through EMDR and EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy). Together, we focus on real, lasting change—not just coping, but moving forward in the way best suited to you and your life.

Whether it be ADHD or anxiety, depression, grief, or substance use related, I am here to help.
Therapy may not be the first thing you think about during tough times. However it may be the right step to take to get to that desired place in your life. I am a Licensed Professional Counseling Associate who has a passion for working with children, adolescents, and adults that struggle with mental health and behavioral health conditions as well as individuals who seek to explore and execute personal and professional goals, but would benefit from guidance on how to navigate through different obstacles that they may be facing.

Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship issues, substance use, grief, trauma, chronic illness, or life stress, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed, discouraged, and even frustrated at times with a lack of clarity or direction.
I use a strength-based and person-centered approach when working with clients to help them cope with a variety of issues. I am also trauma-informed and often incorporate somatic and mindfulness-based approaches into therapy, but I uniquely alter treatment to meet each individual’s personality and needs.

Substance Use Therapists
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.

Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
