I'm a social worker by trade with over 25 years of experience in a lot of different areas. I have a breadth of experience that allows me to be very flexible so I can move where the person I am working with is at. I like to make people comfortable first. I know therapy is challenging and I recognize that it can be hard to open up to a stranger about things. Professionally I have a many years working with veterans/military, people who had a TBI, mental health, substance abuse, and more. I provide a very open and non-judgmental space, and am here to listen.

Most of the people I work with are hardworking adults who know something isn't working but aren't quite sure how to put it into words. You may be exhausted from overthinking, second-guessing yourself, or carrying stress that never seems to let up. Relationship struggles, anxiety, anger, or self-doubt keep showing up despite your best efforts to change. You don't need another explanation of what's wrong—you need a different way forward. Online sessions for adults 20+ across South Carolina.

You may be carrying the weight of anxiety, old wounds, family patterns, or the pressure to hold everything together. You may be navigating a life transition, feeling disconnected from yourself, or realizing you’ve been living in survival mode for far too long. You might even be wondering why you feel so much and why certain relationships drain you, why peace feels unfamiliar, or why clarity seems just out of reach. If any of this resonates, you’re in the right place. My work is rooted in authenticity, emotional safety, and the belief that healing is both possible and transformative.

So many walk around feeling emotionally exhausted, burnt out, stretched thin, depressed, unfulfilled, haunted by grief and past trauma, or just stuck. The expectations on them keep growing while the energy and motivation to meet them shrinks. Their work and relationships suffer. And you know what makes it even worse? Nobody else knows about it! This makes it easy to believe that they’re the only ones feeling like this, while everyone around them seems to "have it all figured out." If this sounds familiar at all, I’d love to talk.

Psychology Today gives me 1,360 characters to try and convey to you who I am as a counselor- a big ask! To be as direct as possible, I will say that my favorite definition of therapy is, "the process of understanding who you are." As a counselor, I rarely use worksheets or assign homework. I am interested in building a healthy therapeutic relationship with clients that creates space for them to be "curious without judgment"- a phrase that almost all my clients hear from me. I consistently find that when we understand ourselves, we can begin to have inner empathy and kindness, and thats where healing begins.

I work with adults as well as children/teens from age 9-17 years old. I have personal knowledge and experience with individuals in public safety, hospital staff, military, and first responders. I can relate to the stress and strain that type of work causes in your personal and professional life. I am trained in Compassion Fatigue and Burnout (CCFP) that can help you enjoy work and activities again. My experience in that area has transitioned well over to helping others. Depression, anxiety, relationships, communication are all hidden issues when you think it is just being tired or “worn out” from your work.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
