I am a licensed clinical social worker in South Carolina. I am the owner and founder of The Healing Hub LLC. I am partnering with Rula to provide therapy to clients using insurance, making mental health support more accessible and affordable. I believe therapy should feel like a safe, inviting space—one where you feel seen, heard, and supported as you work through life’s challenges. My goal is to create a warm and empowering environment where healing can unfold naturally, much like a conversation with a trusted friend.

I use a variety of strategies (including expressive arts and faith-based counseling) and sound counseling approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy.
Navigating life's challenges can be daunting at times, especially when we try to go it alone. I provide a safe and sacred space in which to collaboratively explore and find a way through the struggles you are facing. Whether the nature of your problems is personal (such as, healing from abuse/trauma, grief/loss, self-esteem, addiction, anxiety or depression), or interpersonal (couple or marital issues, parent-child relationships, social, school or workplace concerns), I believe I possess the training, skills, and experience to help you and/or your loved one on your journey toward healing.

Here at Uncomfortably Comfy, we work with people who are holding it all together on the outside while feeling stuck, exhausted, disconnected, or overwhelmed inside. Maybe the same fights keep happening, communication feels impossible, anxiety is running the show, or old coping patterns that once helped you survive are now keeping you trapped. We support couples, families, teens, adults, and neurodivergent clients with compassionate, practical, research-informed care. Together, we slow things down, make sense of the patterns, build tools that actually fit your life, and lean into the discomfort where real change and healing begin.

Hi there! I'm really happy that you're here, because I know how hard it can be just to take this first step. Life can feel heavy sometimes — maybe you're feeling anxious, depressed, stuck, overwhelmed, or just not like yourself lately. Maybe you're working through a tough relationship, past trauma, or difficult emotions that feel hard to untangle. You're looking for a space where you can talk freely, feel supported, and begin to heal. My clients often come in wanting clarity, calm, skills to help them cope, and a deeper connection to themselves and others — and they’re ready to take that first step.

My ideal clients are individuals who are motivated for change even if they’re not sure where to begin. They may be navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship stress, or emotional overwhelm. Many come to me feeling stuck in unhelpful patterns, wanting practical tools, clarity, and a safe space to explore their experiences without judgment. I work especially well with clients who appreciate structure, skill‑building, and a collaborative approach. They value honesty, direct feedback, and a therapist who is both compassionate and solution‑oriented.

Many elements impact our lives; some are anxiety, stress, anger, depression, grief, addiction, and conflict. These issues decline our physical and mental health. The ideal client is ready for change and desires additional coping skills; one who is willing to progress daily towards goals that WE establish; one who understands that life can be rigid, but daily living can be fluid, and adjusting can be the benefit of counseling. Changing is difficult; refusing to change or not knowing that change is necessary is dysfunctional.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
