In relationships, it can be difficult to achieve the perfect balance between stability and excitement. Perhaps you feel like your relationship is at a crossroads or has become stagnant. Perhaps you are trying to heal from pain and repair the levels of fairness and trust in your relationship.

I connect with clients all over the state of South Carolina virtually, and in person at my office in downtown Clemson.
Navigating the rocky terrain of early adulthood can be both amazing and brutal all at the same time. One day you understand why people tell you "these are the best days of your life," and other days, you feel certain your life is moving forward without you. The average twenty-something experiences a tremendous amount of stress that is often misunderstood by others. As they say, the struggle is real! I work with college students and young professionals who find themselves overwhelmed and thinking in circles. I know how hard you work to keep it all together, maintaining an image of high performance and achievement.

You may know the feeling of lying awake at night with a racing mind, or realizing that spaces and roles that once fit no longer feel right. Maybe your body feels tense, your stomach stays in knots, or you feel like you are always “on.” You might feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or unsure of yourself. In our work together, we will create a space to pause, breathe, and gently reconnect with yourself so you can begin to feel steadier and more grounded as you navigate what comes next.

When you were little, someone asked what you wanted to be when you grew up. You gave a cute and confident answer, never doubting you'd figure it all out. Fast forward to today. Life looks different, and that question still lingers in new ways. Whether you're a college student juggling academics and friendships, a young professional navigating big decisions, or a mom trying to balance it all while wondering where you fit into the mix, it’s okay to feel overwhelmed. Maybe you're dealing with relationship struggles, have a constant pit in your stomach, or feel the heaviness that comes with figuring out what’s next.

I see you...The person who shows the world that you are “totally ok.” The person who “has it together” by life’s standards, but feels quite differently inside. My message to you is you matter. You are strong. Most importantly…You are enough. It’s not enough to look OK…you deserve to feel OK too! Bottom Line. It's time to hop in the driver's seat of your life and thrive. All it takes is a choice to begin.

I connect with clients all over the state of South Carolina virtually, and in person at my office in downtown Clemson.
Do past events keep replaying in your mind, making it hard to fully experience life today? Trauma and difficult life events can linger long after the circumstance has passed, showing up in ways that may disrupt your relationships, your sense of safety, and even your connection to yourself. Maybe you find yourself caught in a cycle of memories or emotions that feel impossible to shake, leaving you feeling stuck or distant from the present. You don’t have to be defined by what happened to you. Therapy provides a space where you can gently unpack these experiences and begin to heal.

I believe you and your child deserve specialized care. I work with children, teens, and college students feeling stuck. This often shows up as anxiety, worry, trouble with school, friendships, and family, panic, depression, self-criticism, grief, and major life stress. Parents often reach out at the recommendation of teachers and pediatricians or when life at home feels "off." Services for children age 5+ are available.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
