Many parents find it difficult to help their child navigate the emotional challenges of adolescence in today’s modern world.
Teenagers need a safe space in therapy where they can feel seen and understood, knowing their experiences are being taken seriously and not undervalued. Parents are often seeking help in how to strengthen their relationship with their child, trying to find the balance between providing guidance and honoring their child’s growing individuality.

Ever been in a situation where you felt like there was no escape? No where to run. No where to hide? Most importantly no one to talk to? When asked why I wanted to be a therapist, my reason why is for those individuals who feel as though there is nowhere to go. My why is for those who lost sight of happy endings because they have grown up through survival instead of being nurtured. My why is for those who feel trapped in discomfort and suffocated from their anxiety. My why is for you.

Life can feel overwhelming when you’re trying to balance work or school, relationships, family responsibilities, and the pressure to keep it all together. When you add in ADHD, OCD, or the lasting effects of trauma, it can quickly become exhausting. I work with women who appear to have it all together on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted on the inside. You might notice your mind getting caught in loops, feel constantly on edge, or struggle with tasks that seem like they “shouldn’t” be this hard. You are not broken. Often, there’s a deeper story that hasn’t been fully seen or supported.

My goal is to provide you with a safe place to work through and eventually overcome the difficulties, large or small, you are currently experiencing. You will never hear me say "I know exactly how you feel," or many other 'classic' therapists' lines. The fact is, anyone who tells you this is not being totally honest. However, this realization is what leads to what I believe is one of the most beneficial aspects of our therapeutic journey; teaching you to help yourself.

My clients often feel overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, or loss, and are seeking balance, connection, and relief. Many are navigating life transitions, burnout, or relationship challenges—others are exploring intimacy, sexual health, or identity within the LGBTQ+ community. Some juggle caregiving, work, and emotional exhaustion, unsure where to begin. They’re not just seeking symptom relief—they want deeper self-understanding, stronger relationships, and lasting healing. Together, we create a compassionate, judgment-free space to move from surviving to thriving.

I am interested in working with someone who wants help. A person who wants to understand themselves better, who wants to change something in their life. I am excited to work with someone who is willing to be vulnerable and honest. The client should feel heard and understood after each session. The client should feel challenged to some degree, but also encouraged that they are doing the work. There should be a goal they are working towards, that we have agreed on together. They should feel a sense of motivation, investment, hope or progress after each session.

After experiencing a life-altering trauma that reshaped my sense of safety, security, and hope, I found restoration—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually—through the care of a wise and compassionate therapist. That journey not only brought healing but helped clarify my calling: to walk with others toward wholeness and renewed purpose. With over 20 years of experience in youth ministry, I returned to school, graduated in May '24, and in December '24 received my associate license in Marriage and Family Therapy. I offer a nurturing and faith-affirming space for children, teens, couples, families, and individuals seeking restoration.

I am able to work with kids and their parents to help them overcome overwhelming feelings, deal with big life changes, and learn healthy ways to cope with the hard things of life.
No two people are ever the exact same and that's the reason that no two therapy journeys are the same either. I use a combination of techniques based on what fits my client's needs the most. For kids, I use child-centered play therapy techniques. For teens and adults, I use a combination of strategies to tailor therapy to fit you and your needs.

My ideal client is an individual or couple who feels emotionally stuck despite trying to do the right things. They may be dealing with relationship conflict, communication breakdowns, anxiety, trust issues, or major life transitions. Many feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. Some want to repair their marriage; others want clarity about difficult decisions. They value honesty, structure, and growth. Some also want a space where faith can be respected or integrated into the process. Their goal is clarity, emotional stability, healthier communication, and a path forward.

Hi! Thanks so much for visiting my profile and considering me for therapy! I have been working with children and families for 30 years, always with a focus on trauma. I believe in meeting my clients where they are at, using strengths based, person centered therapy. I use an eclectic approach in therapy depending on your needs, often using elements from CBT, DBT, solution focused therapy and non-directional play therapy for young children. I believe there is never a one-size-fits-all approach for therapy and instead work to assess what will work best for you.

Have you ever considered your life as a story? Like any good narrative, our lives have a setting, characters, themes, plot twists, beauty, and brokenness. If you were to start a reading a new book today, I would bet that you wouldn't just open up to the middle chapters, start reading, and expect it all to make sense. Likewise, in order to understand the chapter of life we currently find ourselves in, it is tremendously helpful to look at the story of our lives as a whole, from the beginning to now. As we begin to look at and reflect on our story with curiosity and self-kindness, we can begin to make profound changes in our lives.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
