My ideal client wants to be engaged during therapy, and they come prepared to do heavy work that is necessary to heal. I expect accountability, transparency, a willingness to do homework, be vulnerable, and honest during sessions. I employ a diverse approach to psychology that is specifically tailored to each person. Their needs, goals, individual growth speed, personal identity, religious background, ethnicity, race, sexuality, gender, social economic status, social stratification and intersectionality are all interwoven into a treatment plan that is optimistic, individualized, healing and promotes growth.
I have a masters degree in psychology with additional degrees in sociology, theology, and queer studies. I've studied gender for over 25 years and have potentially educated millions of Americans through television, radio interviews and workshops. I'm also an award-winning entertainer and a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success.
I was raised by a single mom, and transitioned as a nonbinary person in 1987. I kept my mom busy because I was also born autistic, mostly deaf, intersex and allergic to most foods. I overcame these odds, along with being a human trafficking survivor before I was 21 and now I teach people how to be more resilient, resourceful and heal from their past trauma.
