Each client is as unique as everyone's fingerprint, with individual tailored interventions, education, and cheering on your self-discovery each step of the way. An ideal client seeks to understand how societal power structures impact their mental health or well-being. They are open to exploring internalized oppression, connecting personal struggles to broader social issues and context. They are also motivated to cultivate self-awareness, build resilience, and find empowerment within their unique intersectional identity.
I use mindfulness liberation psychology and it gets used to better understand your individual experiences and how they are deeply intertwined with broader sociological and political contexts. This feminist-queer lens includes your intersectional identity, goals, social stratification, religious background, nationality, ethnicity, race, sexuality, and gender.
I've worked with LGBT populations since 1997. My undergrad was in nursing, and sociology. I hold a master's degree in the psychology of gender diversity. My PhDs studies are in the psychology and philosophy of gender and sexual fluidity. My dissertation is about the mental health disparities for middle-aged BiPoc gender and sexual fluid minorities.
