My name is Savannah Corey (she/her) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I utilize a person-centered approach to meet clients where they are, and believe we are the expert in our own lives. Therapy should be a place where you feel really safe to talk about anything, and I believe that the relationship between a therapist and client is a partnership where all people involved strive to reach the same goals. As a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, I help clients connect thoughts, feelings, or behaviors to "stuck points" in thoughts processes so that negative thoughts can be reframed.
I practice an eclectic approach and utilize multiple modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method.
I specialize in helping adolescents, adults, and couples that struggle with issues such as depression, anxiety, life changes, trauma, women's issues, gender/sexual identity and neurodivergence. I am poly informed and enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ population. I work with individuals ages 13-50 in person and via telehealth in our Durham office.
