Satori Counseling Services's Groups
Satori Batters Intervention Program
The Satori Program is a Kansas certified Batterers Intervention Program (BIP) desgined to support individuals who have a history of intimate partner violence and/or a history of emotionally abusive behaviors towards their partners. The program can range from 28 - 40 weeks. Emphasis is placed on: accountability (cognitively-emotionally-Behaviorally) for actions without blaming others; recognition of distorted views of themselves and relationships; identification of battering techniques; improving communication skills; and building empathy and compassion. Group times are Mondays 6:00 pm, Tuesdays at 6 pm (women's group), Wednesdays at 6 pm, and Thursdays at 6:30 pm Each class is 1.5 hours.
Anger Management Class
Lawrence, KS court-approved anger management program. We offer a monthly, Saturday all day class (9 am - 4 pm) that teaches: identification of triggers to anger and aggression; skill-building on emotional regulation; understanding your aggression cycle; CBT strategies and conflict resolution skills. You can call to get scheduled for 1:1 sessions with a student therapist.
