Hello and thank you for considering me. I am a clinical social worker who obtained my MSW from Michigan State in 2013. I have always been drawn to helping others. I value the trust given to me by those that use my services. I see my role as a guide to walk beside you while you make personal discoveries that will make long lasting improvement in your life providing support and encouragement along the way. You are the expert of your life, I am just there to guide you to see things clearly and build coping skills to deal with whatever life throws at you.
In someway or another, I have been working with addiction related issues for over 20 years. I see how it has affected individuals, families, and the community. I believe in a strong interaction between substance use and other mental health issues and strive to help those that I work with understand that connection.
One thing that I’ve learned along the way in my own experience with counseling is that not everyone is a perfect fit. It’s okay to try a therapist and move on if they are not the right person to help you. You should not waste your valuable time with someone that you do not feel safe with. When you find the right fit in a therapist, it is amazing!
