Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills were developed to help clients with emotional dysregulation, depression, anxiety, and mood swings. DBT skills group teach clients how to get extreme emotions and impulsive behaviors under control and how to live a more balanced life. Research has shown that the DBT group is the most effective part of DBT therapy for reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety and mood swings. This is a 24 week curriculum with four modules that last six weeks each. Clients must make a commitment to participate in group weekly. Core modules include Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Distress Tolerance.
