I use a therapeutic approach that I found helped me break through years of stuckness in my own therapy. My work with patients helps them move from analysis and overthinking, into feeling in their bodies and with me, so they can discharge stuck feeling and move forward. I help folks move from feeling self doubt, insecurity, and fear to a secure place of resolving their past and trusting themselves. I help patients navigate their defenses so they can tolerate being with the core feelings sitting underneath anxiety and depression. This process touches every part of a person life, especially connection to themselves and others.
Our work will be about helping you to deal with feelings in a more constructive way so they don't becoming overwhelming or stuck. Getting practiced in noticing and making space for core feelings lets us move through them in ways that leads to insight, calm, and clarity. We'll also use our relationship as a window to explore dynamics that happen elsewhere.
I am trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), an evidence-based therapy focused on healing trauma and emotional blocks through present-moment awareness, secure connection, and experiential processing.
