I work with individuals, couples, and families on a wide range of issues, including major life transitions such as change in employment, relationship, parenthood, health/illness, life-stage, and loss. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety and depression related to self-identity, spirituality, substance abuse, trauma, acute or chronic grief, and sexuality. My couples and family work is informed by my training at The Ackerman Institute for the Family; I am also certified in Prepare/Enrich, a relationship inventory and skill-building program often used in premarital counseling.
I am a licensed clinical social worker and ordained Presbyterian minister whose career has been devoted to fostering the human capacity for resilience, growth and meaning-making, even under the most daunting circumstances. My goal is to be part observer, advocate and cheerleader.
As a therapist, I bear special witness to the unique stories of everyone I encounter, serving as a companion during difficult times and a supporter during moments of possibility. I believe in the inherent spirituality of all people to be a resource for achieving healing and wholeness.
