The most common need I hear from clients is that they have done a lot of talk therapy in the past and they are stuck. I get it. That's the client I'm excited to work with. My ideal client is one who wants to do the work because I show up for my half of the therapeutic relationship. I bring my varied 24 years of experience to every session. My specialties are complex trauma and addiction, and this also encompasses obsessive overthinking, chronic low self-confidence, generalized anxiety, relationship issues, etc. Therapy is a team effort to make lasting changes outside of the therapy environment.
I feel like we are doing a disservice just treating the Adult Self that walks in the door. Not understanding that there were wounded parts of me that needed to be seen and healed made me feel, as a client, that I was doing therapy wrong! I am so grateful to have tools such as EMDR, IFS, and Ego State Therapy, to draw from and witness clients truly change.
The key to a therapist-client relationship is "fit" or having a good therapeutic rapport. I think it is a great idea to contact me first and ask questions or express concerns one may have about therapy. It takes courage to change so whether I am one's first therapy experience, the 10th, or a past client of mine returning to therapy - I SEE you. Namaste.

I first teach effective coping strategies to regulate your nervous system to help you find what works and what doesn't work. When you are ready, we do the brain-based work to address the origins of your "big T" or "little t" trauma (no need to re-live it to heal!) or addiction. Therapy is about rewiring your brain and usually rooted in core beliefs rather than thoughts. Recovery is possible!

I am also trained in the Flash technique for trauma and use the Polyvagal Theory and Interpersonal Neurobiology concepts in sessions. It is important to have a variety of brain and body-based therapies to find the best fit for clients. EMDR and Brainspotting are particularly effective for lasting, long-term resolution of multiple issues experienced as emotional and nervous system dysregulation.
