My approach to therapy is founded in human connection, and strengthened by our understanding of the brain. My clients are often highly sensitive, gifted teens and adults who struggle with depression and anxiety, eating disorders, addictions, or the effects of trauma. Most of them are seeking to develop a relationship with a therapist they can see long-term. I use a variety of approaches (such as EMDR and art or wilderness therapy, among others) and will work with you to determine what modalities could be motst beneficial for you.
With a background in medicine and science spanning two decades, I know a lot about the human brain and how it interacts with the rest of the body. As a therapist, I know that in times of crisis, we can respond habitually in not-so-healthy ways. When you're feeling hijacked by your own mind, getting back on track is much easier with the right kind of support.
