As a queer/ace Chinese transracial adoptee, I absolutely love working with fellow adoptees, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ identifying individuals. Additionally, I typically work with individuals dealing with grief and loss, wanting to strengthen or build parts of their identities, and/or experiencing general life stressors or transitions.
I believe my role as a therapist is to create a space where we can work collaboratively to reach your care goals. I believe mental health, similar to physical health, is not a checklist to be completed or finished. Rather, it is an ongoing exploration and relationship to strengthen and better understand.
My approach to therapy is anti-oppressive and non-judgmental, and I focus on building rapport and trust through transparency and self-disclosure. I use a variety of theories/approaches to help us but more importantly I strive to find connection with clients through our shared humanity.
In my free time, I enjoy learning languages (currently Tagalog, Thai, and Indonesian) and spending time with my cat, Noodle.
