Sarah specializes in supporting trauma survivors and highly sensitive people. Clients come to her for help healing the painful impact of sexual violence, abuse, neglect, traumatic loss, or - not to be underestimated - not feeling seen or cherished for who they truly are. Grounded in her passion for Disability Justice, she provides affirming therapy for disabled and chronically ill folks. Sarah uses self-compassion, sand therapy (the therapeutic use of symbols), and Internal Family Systems, guiding you to build a loving relationship with yourself - even (especially!) the parts of yourself that might feel troublesome or unworthy.
A former bodyworker, Sarah utilizes mind-body approaches to help you ease chronic trauma responses in the nervous system. Attending to the body's natural responses to trauma while simultaneously fostering a stance of inner care and compassion toward yourself makes it possible to recover a felt sense of comfort and empowerment in your own skin.
Once painful symptoms feel less overwhelming, Sarah draws from existential therapy to accompany you in navigating that inner sense of freedom to make your own choices. She approaches life's big questions with a spirit of humility and helps you tune inward with new ways of relating to yourself as you unfold your own unique path forward.
