We are all authors to our own stories, and experts in our own lives. When our stories are silenced, harmed, or rejected, this can affect our lives and identities in many ways. It takes immense bravery to let a stranger look past the cover of your story, and you deserve a space where the chapters you wish to process will be handled with respect and care. Whether you are new to therapy or have been participating in therapy for years, I believe that my role is to sit with you wherever you are at in life. Therapy is hard work, and I honor this through taking our time together at your own pace.
I approach therapy though an eclectic theoretical stance. My flexibility in using multiple lenses allows me to meet your goals and needs in a collaborative, empathetic, contextually aware, and respectful way. I am trauma-informed, sex-positive, and use a feminist, systemic lens to better understand how I can show up for you in the therapy room.
When grief and trauma appear in life, there is always a lack of choice; there is always a moment in which we have no control. Part of healing is to find the very tool that was taken away in that moment; choice. To heal yourself in a hardened world that often takes choices away is so very difficult, and I am here to sit with you in this journey.
