As we move through life, stressful and painful experiences are inevitably thrown our way, and we must find a path through. I believe that we all have the ability to thrive if given the tools and support needed. When we struggle to utilize our strengths, skills and strategies effectively, we must find alternative means to remove barriers that stand between us and a life of personal value. When working with me, we will join in collaboration to design a treatment guided by scientific evidence and your own personal values and goals.
I specialize in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults with eating disorders. I have extensive training in Family Based Treatment ("Maudsley) for adolescents with anorexia. An overlapping specialty is in helping teens and their families learn to effectively manage emotions that feel out of control using Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
I completed training at Stanford University where I conducted research on the therapeutic relationship and methods to improve recovery rates from eating disorders, to inform my clinical practice. I have been a therapist on clinical trials (CBT for binge eating disorder, and Family Based Treatment, Cognitive Remediation Training for anorexia).
