Finding a mental health provider is challenging and scary. There are plenty of worries, concerns and fears when trying to find someone that is a good fit for you and your mental health goals. "Will the provider judge me? Will anyone understand? There is no way anyone will get what I am experiencing!". Maybe it is not just fear but maybe there is also shame, guilt, embarrassment, or hopelessness around what you are going through.
My primary goal in working with a client is to establish a working rapport and trust in the beginning to help the client feel comfortable and safe. I will go at the pace the client sets and provide interventions that accommodate your readiness in treatment.
I believe taking care of your mental health is the catalyst to taking care of your physical health as well. Frequently feeling bad and carrying a lot of stress impacts your body as a whole. If you are starting to feeling the physical and mental burden of ignoring your mental health symptoms, it is time to take a chance on treatment.
