About

Extremes in our emotional and psychological states can lead to imbalance, avoidance and mindlessness, and can be related to extremes in other areas of our health, such as eating, activity, and sleep. Eating too much or not fueling our bodies enough, stress or emotional eating-these are ways we cope with or respond to extremes in our thoughts and emotions, and distracts and disonnects us from our life values and goals. I am here to help you reestablish your values and goals by focusing on a more balanced perspective and awareness of your mind, body and behaviors.
I use evidence-based approaches (CBT and DBT) to help those who struggle with behavioral health concerns. I also work with those who have suffered trauma and PTSD using CPT. I focus on treatment for those with eating, weight and body image concerns, and also treat related and co-occurring depression, anxiety, and other emotional struggles.
I hold an Adjunct Faculty position at OSU, and have presented at national and local conferences on the mechanisms, diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders and weight concerns. Visit my website for more info about my specialty and practice and for information on scheduling.

DBT for Eating Disorders Skills Training

DBT Skills Training consists of 24 weekly group sessions focused on four modules- Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Commitment to the entire 24-sessions is required, as the skills build on each other. In this group, you will learn how to apply these DBT skills responding to and coping with eating disorder symptoms and behaviors. We also discuss their application to general emotion dysregulation.
