Hi! I'm Sarah and my pronouns are she, her and hers. I'm a fat, queer woman who specializes in trans affirming mental health care, fat empowerment, couples therapy, polyamory, and the treatment of Axis II personality disorders. I also have experience working in child welfare and have extensive training regarding childhood trauma and dysfunctional family dynamics. I provide gender affirming letters for clients seeking therapy clients seeking therapy and have been actively advocating for the trans community since 1999. I am a practicing Celtic pagan and am open to all belief (or non-belief) paths!
As a therapist, my practice revolves around accountability to one's self, radical acceptance, and confronting the systems and beliefs that are not serving you. I am very goal oriented and see my role as a therapist much more aligned with that of a physical therapist than a friend. I believe my clients are the experts of their life experiences!
I support reparations, urban preservation and the end of redlining. I do not have the necessary skills to treat clients who are seeking therapy to address active eating disorders, substance use, chronic illness, severe depression or couples who are engaged in a domestically violent dynamic.
