Hello! I strive to create a warm and accepting atmosphere for kids and teens to grow. I began providing animal-assisted therapy (AAT) in 2020 and found it added an extra layer of comfort, humor, and playfulness that enhances the sometimes challenging work of therapy. Olaf, a golden retriever, is now my primary therapy companion and can be seen in some of the profile pictures. My hope is to make therapy fun and enlightening. Children and teens have many stressors that include rigorous school testing, challenging social dynamics, and perfectionism. This can lead to negative self-talk and self-doubt.
I provide a place for young people to share their emotions and explore healthy ways of being. Possible treatments can include EMDR, CBT, and mindfulness. Generally, I work with children from 3rd grade to emerging adults. While I do provide AAT, it is always optional.
