Hi, I'm Sarah, and I'm so glad you're here! I'm a mental health therapist with Northside Behavioral Health Group in Lincoln, NE, who works with young people ages 6 and up. Many of my clients struggle with anxiety, depression, and/or trauma, and are caught in cycles of maladaptive coping - engaging in self-injury, aggressive behavior, disordered eating, or substance use in an attempt to suppress uncomfortable thoughts or emotions. It is my job (and my passion!) to meet my clients where they're at and support them in getting to where they want to go.
I take a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and individualized approach, in which my client(s) and I co-construct the process of therapy as a sacred healing practice. In order to best serve each unique client, I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities and often incorporate art and play into my work with clients of all ages.
For many of us, our deepest desire is to be seen and valued as we are in the present moment. As such, I approach each therapy session with humility and offer my clinical knowledge and skills as a compliment to, not a departure from, the wisdom inherent to my clients’ lived experience.
