I am a cognitive-behavioral therapist at Cambridge Psychology Group with over 20 years of experience treating anxiety disorders, including social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and generalized anxiety disorder. I am also experienced in treating depression. As a staff psychologist at UMass Memorial Medical Center, I developed group programs for social anxiety disorder, other anxiety disorders, and depression. I am a senior clinician for CPG's Intensive CBT Program for Anxiety and OCD, a 2-week accelerated treatment program that provides concentrated individual CBT and exposure therapy to adults and adolescents.
Anxiety, fear, and sadness are very painful mood states, and the natural tendency when one feels overwhelmed by such feelings is to withdraw, avoid certain situations, and experience worries and negative thoughts. Seeking treatment is the first step in getting relief from these unpleasant emotional states and changing the associated thoughts and behaviors.
I am warm, genuine, empathetic, and collaborative as I work with my clients to develop skills to better manage these symptoms. My aim is to be sure that you have learned a set of skills that you can draw upon to maintain your gains after you end therapy.
