For so many women, the journey toward healing from pregnancy and/or birth trauma, illness, grief, or loss can be a lonely one. As a therapist who specializes in working with women who have experienced trauma or chronic illness, I create a safe space for clients to bear witness to their unedited stories, including stories of traumatic loss. It is an honor to witness post-traumatic growth. I am present with my clients without judgment and with acceptance of how they feel. In my work with grieving clients, I believe that not all grief is created equal and traumatic grief can affect every part of an individual’s life and health.
Within a framework based in the art of full presence, a mindful and evidenced-based model to care for the traumatically bereaved, I employ the ATTEND model. Additional therapeutic approaches I also utilize are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness training.
I am a certified Peer Support Resource for First Candle, a non-profit organization that provides support to those who have experienced a sudden unexpected infant death or stillbirth. I also hold certification as a Compassionate Bereavement Care Provider through the Miss Foundation, a support organization for those who have experienced child loss.
