Much of my success in working with children has come from my ability to effectively establish a strong therapeutic relationship. I give children a safe place in which they can effectively express their feelings. Boundaries are extremely important in this process. My patients know that what they say in my office stays in my office. I work collaterally with families to help address a child's needs, without violating the trust or the boundaries we have established. Much of my work has been with children who have anxiety, depression, ADHD, and learning differences. Many of my patients have a combination of these issues. I
I specialize in working with children aging from preschool through young adulthood. I am comfortable working with a wide variety of issues including family problems, learning problems, ADD/ADHD, depression, anxiety and pervasive developmental disorders. I have also been trained in working with children who have suffered trauma or abuse.
I believe that it is critical to recognize a child's strengths while treating their problems. Growing and nurturing strengths can shape a stronger self image and balance other areas of struggle. In doing this I find it important to to collaborate with parents, schools and other treatment providers. I enjoy a team approach to treatment.
