Hello! I'm so happy that you are seeking counseling and therapy services and I would be honored to help you on your journey towards greater wellbeing. The path to healing and wellness looks different for every person, so my job as your mental health counselor is to help you to identify your individual goals based on your needs and what works best for you, in order to help you start living a more fulfilling life.
I take a collaborative, culturally-sensitive, and trauma-informed approach to counseling. My healing work is influenced by person-centered therapy, polyvagal theory, attachment theory and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
I have experience helping folks with anxiety disorders, trauma recovery, and mood disorders (such as depression). I hold a PhD in neuroscience from a previous academic career and I received a certificate in trauma counseling as part of my counseling specialization. I may incorporate my knowledge about stress, trauma, and the brain into our work together.
My goals for therapy are to create an open and nonjudgmental environment, where you can feel safe to speak your mind, and to help you identify the goals and values that matter most to you, in order to help you move towards living a more fulfilling life. If you think we may be a good fit to work together, please reach out!
