I obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Denver. I completed a Predoctoral Internship and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in clinical psychology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. My broad training included emergency psychiatry, inpatient and outpatient adult and adolescent treatment, neuropsychological and forensic assessment, and behavioral medicine . My fellowship training in psychological testing and adolescent development informs my clinical thinking and focuses treatment to the psychological, interpersonal, and developmental presentation of each individual.
I am experienced in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, life transitions, substance use disorders, and trauma. I have extensive training and professional experience in working with a broad array of relationship and family concerns, parenting, and adolescent treatment.
My formal training is from a psychodynamic framework. This traditional perspective is a foundation to understand the complexity of human development, symptom presentation, and treatment priorities. However, treatment of individuals incorporates interventions from a broad range of applicable treatment approaches.
