Beginning therapy is not easy. I am here to listen to your story and to how you experience the world. I believe it is important that people feel safe in the therapy relationship before processing difficult moments. I will companion you through exploring times in your life that are hard to talk about, and will gently nudge us forward so that you can move onto the path that feels safest to you. I have witnessed brave individuals share their stories and work at finding new ways to cope with the devastating impacts of trauma.
While I know that I have many blind spots, I work every day to learn where they are. I strive to be an ally, antiracist, and work against the oppression that my clients have encountered. I also continue learn about experiences of people who identify as neurodiverse, disabled, or otherwise feel their experiences are misunderstood.
I invest in the relationships I build with clients. I do not know how to do this work any other way. I work best with people who are willing to invest in themselves and this process. I believe that the therapy relationship is a powerful tool for working through past relational injuries and a place where healing can happen.
