I have over 20 years experience offering compassionate and goal-oriented therapy for adults and teens with trauma/abuse histories and/or depression that are causing current mood problems, frequent upsetting memories, relationship problems, poor choices, self esteem issues, shame, numbness, sleep problems and anxiety. I specialize in Lifespan Integration and EMDR, two rapid trauma resolution techniques. Both can quickly and effectively resolve past issues that are causing current life problems without re-traumatizing.
Both Lifespan Integration and EMDR involve very brief exposure to difficult or traumatic memories followed by techniques that allow the brain to very rapidly reprocess and store the memories differently. This happens without having to talk much about the trauma or dwell on the related feelings.
I generally use Lifespan Integration and EMDR in combination with current life issues problem solving, communication skills training, mindfulness development, and relaxation skills training. I have a passion for providing practical techniques for managing emotions.
