I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have over 25 years of experience working with children and families here and in the Midwest. My ideal client is an individual with infants or young children, either in the adjustment to parenthood or in the challenges that come with caring for a young child. I also have experience working with individuals who may be experiencing anxiety or depression, family problems, stress, trauma/abuse, and difficulties with relationships. My specialties include maternal mental health, pregnancy, and parenthood. I am also well-versed in 12-step recovery and codependency.
I use attachment theory, which is the study of how early relationships form our patterns in relating to others throughout our lives. I enjoy using Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy, which helps clients process old emotional wounds in a supportive, loving environment. I also use EMDR, which can help you work through traumatic events.
My counseling style is positive, nurturing, and empowering. I am warm and friendly, and I have been told that I am easy to talk to. Using my intuition and life experience, as well as good clinical judgment, we will work together to get you out of your stuck places.
