I believe every patient has the right to be treated gently and respectfully, even bolstered on their mental health journey. Each session is dynamic and unique, allowing me to be fully present to listen and engage. While I am always equipped to offer tools that can help alleviate acute symptoms of anxiety or depression, I find that the real magic happens as the therapeutic alliance grows over time. As I get to know you and the context of your life struggles, it becomes increasingly powerful to explore unconscious wishes and conflicts. It's quite common for my patients to experience increased insight, acceptance, and flexibility.
Some of my favorite therapeutic tools for short-term relief include cognitive, behavioral, mindfulness meditation, and acceptance. Overall, I favor a psychodynamic approach because I find it to be a holistic way to engage an individual's identity resources, underlying conflicts, and relevant patterns.
Seeking a new therapist is intimidating and you may find yourself resisting. I always encourage new patients to experience a full session to see if we are a good fit. I’m currently accepting clients on a weekly or biweekly basis.
