Are you helping an aging parent navigate the challenging transitions of older age, illness, or dementia? Are you, or someone you love, overwhelmed by the emotional realities associated with a life-limiting illness? If so, I offer calm and compassionate emotional and practical support to navigate the daunting uncertainties of illness, aging, and death. I work with elders and those living with serious illness (as well as those who support them) to cope, plan, and prepare for the trials and transitions of everyday living. When necessary, I help plan and prepare for a meaningful and healing end of life experience.
My intention is to help clients discern what is most important to them by: 1) encouraging and supporting a focus on enjoyment and quality of life; and 2) helping them maintain/regain a sense of dignity, self determination and control.
With my training and experience in hospice and palliative care social work (along with my personal experiences), I bring compassionate and honest communication, family conflict resolution, advocacy, coaching, life review, and end of life ritual and vigil planning. Visits generally take place in the comfort of home.
