I work with adult clients to develop skills to enhance their ability to cope with stressors, manage their symptoms of mental illness, and find healthier ways to balance life’s needs. I am passionate about empowering the strengths and supporting the goals of the individuals I serve. I utilize a trauma-informed, strengths-based, holistic approach to counseling to focus treatment on your entire self rather than only addressing the symptoms you may be currently experiencing. I am also a Missouri State approved supervisor for pre-licensed counselors seeking LPC licensure.
My therapeutic orientation is derived from Cognitive Theory, often integrating interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy depending on individual needs and goals. It is my goal to develop a positive, trusting, and transparent therapeutic relationship.
In my clinical experience, I have found that in building the therapeutic relationship, being nonjudgmental, personable, and mindful that we are all human has allowed me to develop meaningful rapport with clients.
